STABILIZATION

Harris County Housing & Community Development (HCD) is committed to providing support and resources to ensure stable housing for all living in Harris County. Those experiencing homelessness can find urgent resources through Coordinated Access, while our case management team offers housing stability services, such as eviction prevention and eviction defense, to ensure that those in need receive the assistance and guidance necessary to achieve stability.

Coordinated Access Intake Line

If you know someone experiencing homelessness, please refer them to our Coordinated Access intake line!

Eligible residents are waitlisted for housing referrals, but the intake line offers immediate income program referrals.

Coordinated Access

In addition to our commitment to provide immediate assistance to individuals experiencing homelessness, HCD also offers services aimed at preventing homelessness.

Eviction Prevention

Eviction Defense

The primary goal of Eviction Prevention is to help families and individuals avoid homelessness and move towards stable, sustainable living. This program focuses on prevention, intervention, and empowerment. In collaboration with United Way, we can connect you to critical, time-sensitive assistance and personalized case management. To learn more about how applicants are prioritized for eviction assistance, view the Prioritization & Income Limits Guidelines.

Our Eviction Defense program provides legal advice and representation to low-income residents in Harris County facing eviction. Learn more about eligibility requirements and available legal provider services.
